Rent in Oud-West, Amsterdam

Oud-West (and its sub-neighborhoods Helmersbuurt and Kinkerbuurt) is a calmer alternative to the Pijp, with similar access to the center via tram. It has a distinctly residential feel — lots of family buildings — but enough cafes and co-working spots to keep students happy.

Prices skew higher than the eastern neighborhoods but lower than the canal ring proper. Rooms run from around €850; studios are scarce but typically €1,100+.
