About Noord

Noord (North) used to be the cheap side of the IJ river. New development around NDSM and Buiksloot has pulled it closer to the rest of the city, and the 22 and 34 buses plus the ferries make it commutable for most students.

Room prices here are still meaningfully below central Amsterdam — expect €700–€900 for a room in a shared apartment. Studios start around €950.
